Why the milligrams depend on the label
If you are drawing semaglutide from a vial with an insulin syringe, the vial is a compounded product. It changes the arithmetic: there is no label strength to look up, because the FDA-approved semaglutide products are pens and tablets, and compounded vials are prepared by individual pharmacies at concentrations they choose. The FDA has not reviewed those products for safety, effectiveness or quality. The reliable number is the mg/mL printed on your own pharmacy label, and it can differ from what another person with "semaglutide" was given. The conversion itself is short. Divide the mark by 100 to get millilitres on a U-100 syringe, so 40 units is 0.4 mL. Multiply by your label's mg/mL to get milligrams. The concentrations in the table are arithmetic examples, not a list of what pharmacies use. If your label states the amount per vial and a fill volume instead of a concentration, divide the milligrams by the millilitres first.
The mistake to watch for. Two people can both be told "40 units" and be taking doses that differ by five times. Confirm your dose in milligrams with your prescriber, and confirm the concentration with the pharmacy that filled it.
